Perth Festival seeks Artistic Director

Okay, here’s a cool job:

The Perth International Arts Festival is Western Australia’s premier cultural event with a worldwide reputation for presenting an outstanding annual multi-arts program of the highest international quality. Founded in 1953 by The University of Western Australia, the Perth Festival enjoys the largest ticket buying audience of any international arts festival in Australia. It has pursued a visionary audience development strategy which has returned significant audience growth while developing the depth and diversity of its program, which attracts artists and companies at the height of their practice across all the creative genres. The University of Western Australia and the Festival Board are seeking to replace the Festival’s current Artistic Director, whose four year term ends in March 2011.

If you are an inspiring artistic leader with vision and a passion for developing the arts – a rare opportunity exists to take a great Festival, which has already achieved so much, to even greater heights of achievement.

Working with the Board and General Manager, you will be responsible for providing artistic leadership that delivers a program of international excellence. This program should showcase the very best of contemporary arts practice from around the world, develop the Festival’s audience, and enhance the support it receives from individuals, Government, the corporate sector and the community.

  1. Ryan says:

Frankenmuth – The first annual Frankenmuth Volksfest transformed the upper floor of Sullivan’s Black Forest Brew Haus & Grill, 281 Heinlein Strasse, into a true German fest hall earlier this month.

The fest took place 7 p.m. until midnight, Friday and Saturday, March 5-6 and drew about 300 persons – many got into the theme and wore German apparel.
