Movement Research Festival Spring 2010 – HARDCORPS

From June 2-7, 2010 the downtown dance scene comes roaring to life with Movement Research Festival Spring 2010:HARDCORPS. Curated by Walter Dundervill, Melanie Maar, Aki Sasimoto, and A.L. Steiner, the festival features performances, workshops, talks, events and much more. You can download the brochure here. The whole thing is chock full of good stuff, but here are a few highlights:

6/2/10
The Artists and Food are Present in collaboration with Bailout Theater, with performances by Michelle Boulé, Deborah Gorman, Mariangela Lopez/Accidental Movement, Shana Moulton and Michael Portnoy
TIME: 7:30-10pm
LOCATION: Judson Memorial Church
COST: Free dinner + performances, first come-first served
Bailout Theater is a twice-monthly night of free din ner and entertainment at Judson Church. There is no catch – they provide free dinner and desserts by friendly West Village restaurants and potluck enthu siasts. HARDCORPS brings you a combo-platter of food and performance.

Free Radicals featuring works by choreographers Heather Kravas, Martin Lanz Landázuri, Jen Rosenblit and Enrico Wey

Theater of Operation performances by Trisha Baga, Heather Cassils, robbinschilds, Jacolby Satterwhite and Yozmit, video by Jillian Peña & Christy Pessagno as part of CPR’s New Voices in Live Performance Series

Multiple Personalities – Talking Choreography and Performance Art, with luciana achugar, Johnanna Burton, Joan Jonas, Jose Muñoz and Brian Rogers, moderated by Carla Peterson

LOCATION: The Brecht Forum
COST: Free
An arousing conversation between a choreographer, an art critic/historian, a video & performance art pioneer, a performance studies professor, and a the ater director/artist, about the crossroads of perfor mance, dance and the visual arts.
